I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Shavaun MacDonald has been appointed as the new Assistant Dean, Doctor of Medicine Undergraduate Program (MDUP), Island Medical Program (IMP), from September 1, 2021 – August 31, 2024, with the possibility of a 3-year appointment renewal term.
Dr. MacDonald has been working diligently for the IMP as both the Year 3 Clerkship Site Director, IMP, and the Basic Clinical Year Residency Program Site Director, Victoria, FoM, UBC; we greatly appreciate the work that she has done for us in these roles. Furthermore, she works as an Adult Critical Care Physician for Island Health. Dr. MacDonald will maintain her BCY PGME role.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Laura Farrell for her exceptional work as the Assistant Dean, MDUP, IMP over the past six years. Dr. Farrell has accepted a new role as Interim Associate Dean Student Affairs, Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia. We also look forward to Dr. Farrell continuing to work with the IMP in the capacity of CHES-IMP Liaison.
