The Island Medical Program’s (IMP) Class of 2020, along with other medical students around the province, celebrated the first-round results of the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) on March 3. CaRMS pairs medical students with postgraduate residency training programs across Canada.
More than one-fifth of students in the IMP Class of 2020 will stay on Vancouver Island for their residencies.
Students matched to programs including Family Medicine, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Plastic Surgery, Psychiatry, and Urology.
To celebrate the day and their next steps, the Class of 2020 gathered with IMP staff and faculty at Royal Jubilee Hospital for lunch and plenty of photos. You can view some of them on the IMP Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts.
