Jonathan Brower (he/him) holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama from the University of Calgary’s School of Creative and Performing Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies. He specialized in acting, directing, playwriting, and cultural differences in addition to producing live theatre for his own theatre company for six seasons. He grew up frequenting the stage in musicals and moved behind the scenes as a producer, playwright, and youth educator working in professional contemporary theatre. During his Master of Arts in social justice and equity studies at Brock University, he specialized in collaborative autoethnographic storytelling using performance creation as a tool to galvanize conversations about intersectionality, perform out of trauma, and embody collective resistance. Jonathan is passionate about using performance as a vehicle for education, empathy, and activism.
