Jo-Anne moved to Vancouver Island from Thunder Bay, Ontario, in 1991. She worked for Shaw Communications for 20 years before coming to the Island Medical Program and Island Health. She took business administration at Confederation College in Thunder Bay and medical terminology training at Robertson College in Winnipeg. She has three boys and eight grandchildren, and she enjoys relaxing at her timeshare in Cabo, Mexico, on her holidays.
